My journey

My name is Marek Fojtách. I earned my master’s degree in physiotherapy from the Faculty of Physical Culture at Palacký University in Olomouc. When working with patients and clients, I place great emphasis on a personal, kind, and empathetic approach.
After graduating from university, I worked in several public healthcare facilities and quickly realized that treating many patients a day in short therapy sessions is not very effective. I felt I couldn’t give people the full attention their condition required. So I decided to take a different path.
I opened my own physiotherapy clinic in Brno-Bohunice, where I have enough time for each client. This allows me to fully apply everything I’ve learned. Every body and mind is different, so I always tailor my therapy to the individual needs of each person. I use modern treatment methods and do my work with heart. 🙂
I use a comprehensive approach to disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Quick and simple solutions usually only bring short-term relief. In my practice, I always strive to define the problem precisely and examine it from different perspectives. Thanks to this, it is possible to find a targeted systemic solution that brings long-term positive effects.
A part of every visit is a thorough kinesiological assessment, consultation of the results with the patient/client, and determination of both short-term and long-term rehabilitation plans. In my practice, I treat movement problems in the general population as well as athletes. more about sports physiotherapy.
My approach to physiotherapy is inspired by the philosophy of the “Prague School”, represented by names such as Prof. Vojta, Kolář, Janda, Lewit and others. In my work, I use elements of modern physiotherapy methods based on neurophysiology, especially the method of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization – DNS by Prof. Kolář and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) more about methods.
Various forms of relaxation are also part of my therapies, which play an important therapeutic role in today’s fast-paced world.
Recently, I have also been writing articles on topics related to physiotherapy and psychosomatics, which you can find here.
References from my clients are described in the “References” section on this link.

I started my practice already during my studies, specifically at R.R.R. centrum s.r.o. – Olomouc, where I worked under the guidance of renowned professionals: Prof. MUDr. Opavský, CSc., Assoc. Prof. Mgr. Neumannová, Ph.D., and PhDr. Smékal, Ph.D.
Here I gained valuable experience caring for outpatients with a wide range of diagnoses, from neurological disorders to post-traumatic conditions and sports injuries.
After obtaining my degree, I was employed at Slatinice Spa, where I cared for patients after joint replacements and for those with chronic musculoskeletal problems.
My path continued at the private SurGal Clinic, s.r.o. Brno, where I had the opportunity to rehabilitate patients after orthopedic and surgical operations (from early to late phases) as well as bedridden individuals, including patients on mechanical ventilation.
Another step was at the St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno – Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, where I was responsible for patients requiring post-operative rehab, individuals after strokes, and patients hospitalized for intensive rehabilitation (acute back pain). Now, I use my experience from various types of healthcare facilities in my private practice.
